RPG Maker VX Ace XP Music Remastered Review

The remastered music tracks for RPG Maker VX Ace XP are a mixed bag, with some tracks feeling like they're spot on while others fall short. As someone who has played around with music editing in the past, I was excited to dive in and see how these tracks held up.

Battle 1: A Close but Not Quite There

The first battle track is very close to the original, which is a great start. However, there's a slight sense of emptiness or hollowness that detracts from the overall impact. It's not bad by any means, but it could use some tweaking.

Battle 2: Echoes of Incompletion

The second battle track has a bit too much echo and hollow sound effects for my taste. The drum levels are also overpowering the other instruments, which can make it difficult to get a sense of urgency in the music. A bit more balance would go a long way in making this track more effective.

As for the '015 Theme 04', I was surprised by how close it is to my own version - until the drum effects kick in around the 40-second mark. While some people might not notice the difference, my own OCD tendencies made it difficult for me to listen to the track repeatedly without getting distracted.

In conclusion, these remastered music tracks have potential, but they need a bit more work to really shine. With some further attention to detail and balance, I think they could be an excellent addition to any RPG Maker game.
